Jasmine Korean Restaurant

Everybody knows that Moscow is still the city with highest living cost in the world. To get cheap food, it is hard; but to get food tat we Malaysians can enjoy, it is even harder. As we all know, Malaysians are eaters, high-standard eaters!

My first recommendation is this restaurant called Jasmine.

Maybe most of u know about this place, but for those who don’t, this is a Korean restaurant. The food is nice, and the price is affordable.

After u order, there will be appetizers for u, which normally come in 6 small plates. Kimchi is definitely one of those and they replenish it FOC. This is the best part!!

I especially recommend this – “Kompleksnei obed” : fish and stir-friedpork with vegetables. You will have to stir fry the pork urself, the pork is already marinated. When the pork is cooked, wrap some in the cabbage or lettuce provided, add some sauce, chili, onion and garlic..When u bite it, you will taste the crunchy cabbage outside with hot tasty pork and capsicum inside..Kshik! u will never forget it! It is just finger-licking good!!!

If you r going with a whole gang of frens, I would also recommend “TANGSUYIOK – pork in sweet-sour sauce” or “YANIUM CHICKEN- chicken in spicy-sour sauce”

If you are going just yourself or with 1-2 frens, the “PIBIMPAB - Korean mixed rice”, “KIMPAB-sushi” and “KIMCHI TIGE – "kimchi soup with rice” are highly recommended.

12 of us went there, ordered a lot, ate a lot..and we even got a discount card for next visit. Well, for all who love Korean, Japanese dramas………..this is a must-go place for you, because how well would you know about a country if u have never tasted the food?

Location : Kafe Jasmin,Leninski Prospect, Dom 121/1.

Nearest metro: Metro Yougo-Zapadnaya. Take bus no 720, 4 stops.Bus will stop with Hotel Saliot on your right. Walk through the underground to the left hand side of the road. At the underground, take the right at the 2nd exit. Walk for about 2 min and you will see Kafe Jasmin on your left.

COOL STUFF....

Are u bored of the work piled up in front of you everyday?
It's time to relax for a while.....
Here i wanna share some funny and cool pictures that i found online with you.
Hope u enjoy them!

1. The Drunken House.

It is located in Sopot, a city located between Gdansk and Gdyina in the north of Poland. It is called the Italian House.

2. The Man with the USB Hands

He does whatever a powered hub can.
His heart lights up; he's got four ports.
He might be naked, 'cause he's not wearing shorts.
Look out. It's USB Man!

Each USB Man 4-port Hub comes with an AC power adaptor, so your power-hungry USB goodies won't starve. And his little heart lights up green when you plug him in. Apart from being cute, he's pretty flat, meaning he won't stand out on your office desk too much (in case frivolity is frowned upon where you work), but he will provide you with unlimited smiles during your slow work day. USB Man to the rescue!

USB Man 4-port Hub

* His hands and feet are USB ports, and his heart lights up to let you know he's powered on.
* USB 2.0
* Includes: USB Man and AC adaptor
* Cord length: 45"
* Hub Dimensions: 4.5" x 4" x 1.75"

Anyway, it costs $27.99.

3. Wireless Router Vase

Electronics are often so ugly and inanimate; why not make them have multiple functions like this combination wireless router and vase? Finally, electronics you can really call green! No doubt the flowers will last so much longer in that energizing bath of EMF. The designers say that “The STC Router successfully bridges the gap between lifestyle and technology with its flower vase functionality.”

It was created for that hotbed of cutting edge design, Saudi Telecom, who "was in need for a unique router design that would provoke a positive emotional response. Wireless internet, Voice over IP, land line telephone and wired DSL are all incorporated into this elegant device."

4. The extremely FAT Cats.

I wonder what they eat everyday. The owner must be very generous when feeding them too. I bet all they do are sleep and eat for the whole day.

5. The funny calculations by "Creative" students.

Have a great day ahead.

God bless~~~~ :)

Taking a trip out of Moscow Part 1 (Vladimir)

Vladimir

Bored of city life? Ever wonder what is Russia like out of Moscow city? Wonder no more. Be adventurous, wake up at 6am in the morning and take a bus from Kurskaya metro station OR take a train to a nearby city called Vladimir.

We've taken the bus as our mode of transportation, departing from Kurskaya bus terminal. Do not worry about not getting a bus as the bus leaves every 30 minutes. However be prepared for a long queue during peak season. Price is approximately RUB230/= for a single trip. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. After an hour of travelling, you will notice the difference between the city centre of Moscow and outskirt Moscow.

A little bit of History, do bear with me:
The City of Vladimir is one of the oldest Russian communities. It is located in the heart of the historic Vladimir region (Vladimirskaya Oblast) 180 kilometers (115 miles) northeast of Moscow on the bank of the Klyazma River. The city was founded in either 990 or 1108. For the better part of two centuries (from 1157 to the mid 1300s) it was the capital of ancient Rus. Vladimir is now considered one of the major members of the Golden Ring of communities which have played a significant role in Russian history. Among many other attractions, the City boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These are the Golden Gates, Vladimir's unofficial symbol, and the Assumption and St. Demetrius Cathedrals. The city is also home to several award winning museums, art galleries and theaters; a number of world-class performing groups, artists, and artisans, and several first rate institutions of higher learning. Tourists from all over the world purposely travel to Vladimir to enjoy its vibrant culture and its rich religious and secular historic architecture.

Some things to do during the long journey

Upon arrival, you will not miss the Golden Gate. We decided to go straight to Cathedral Square as from what we know, the Golden Gate is only well-lit at night.

Cathedral Square

The Assumption Cathedral

The magnificent Assumption Cathedral is what you see first when you enter Cathedral Square-and when you approach the City from the east. The original cathedral, with its paintings on the exterior walls, gilded decorative friezes, and carved reliefs, was destroyed in the tragic fire of 1185. That fire changed the face of the Cathedral, but the restored version remains a wonderful masterpiece.
The Cathedral also survived when after the City's capture by the Mongol-Tartars in 1238 the prince's family was locked inside and the building was once again burned.

Assumption Cathedral was closed for church services by the Communists beginning in 1927. It was allowed to resume religious services in 1944—as part of Staliln's effort to enlist the Orthodox Church's support for the war effort against the Nazis. This magnificent cathedral has recently undergone major renovations. In addition to admiring the beauty of this UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site, hopefully you'll be able to attend one of the religous services. This should be an experience you will never forget!

Below are pictures taken around the Cathedral Square.

Tat's all for this post. Please stay tuned for Part 2 as we move to the next nearby town, Suzdal, an hour from Vladimir.

We all have only one life on this earth. What would u like to do to make this one life that u have count? Would u rather do something only for yourself, or would u do something for other people around u?... Let this be our thought for today....

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

It is like being raped!

-Can u handle the fear of being robbed or kidnapped everytime

- u will end up in jail!

- Remember we always see in HK drama how prisoners

- Don’t be so naïve as to even dream about Prison Break!

3. Buy lottery (Magnum, TOTO, 3D, 4D)

BUT~~~

- the chance of winning one big sum is 1 in 1000 or 10000.

(I am not talking bout winning few hundreds or thousands,

I mean rich.. real rich!!) What makes u think u are so lucky?

- It would end up tat the money u invest is more than the money

u win, or u will not win even once.

The fact is……..

No matter what, u still have to work.. WORK with ENTHUSIASM,

then only will u get promoted and earn more! Every rich man in the

world works, and the richer he is, the harder he works! How do u

think Bill Gates got to be richest man in the world? HARD WORK!!!

Another richest man in the world – WARREN BUFFET

His Financial Wisdom :

1) Hard work:

All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.

2) Laziness:

A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.

3) Earnings:

Never depend on a single source of income.

4) Spending:

If you buy things you don't need, you'll soon sell things you need.

5) Savings:

Don't save what is left after spending; Spend what is left after saving.

6) Borrowings:

The borrower becomes the lender's slave.

7) Accounting :

It's no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking..

8) Auditing:

Beware of little expenses; a small leak can sink a large ship.

9) Risk-taking:

Never test the depth of the river with both feet.

10) Investment:

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

God will help those that are willing to help themselves!

SIPADAN, a diving paradise.....

Sipadan is simply a legend in diving world, conjuring images of patrolling hammerhead sharks, millions of technicolored reef fish, schools of barracuda and jacks, tuna, humphead parrotfish, sharks, rays and, above all, dozens of sea turtles swimming peacefully everywhere. It is considered one of the five top diving destinations in the world.

Being a Sabahan, I'm ashamed to say that I've never thought of exploring this diving paradise that is situated in my own state for the past 23 years in my life. On the contrary, I have been more enthusiastic about traveling overseas and have spent lots of money and effort doing so. Therefore, I've set a goal to conquer Sipadan Island in 2 years time. It's no use talking without action. Therefore, I've done some research on it as an action plan.

Sipadan is the only oceanic island in Malaysia, rising 2,000 feet or 600m from the seabed. It is located in the Celebes Sea east of the major town of Tawau and off the coast of East Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands of years to develop. Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world.

Diving

To dive on Sipadan you have to stay somewhere nearby, such as on Mabul or in Semporna, and take a boat to the island.

Because Sipadan is now a protected site, only 120 dives are allowed daily (as of 8/26/08). It's best to try to dive as early as possible to beat the crowds and increase your chances of getting on the roster to dive.

From the main beach of the original resort it is a mere 20m wade over the reef to reach the top of the reef wall dropping 1000-2000m. Sipadan is surrounded by very rich reef life consisting of both hard and soft coral as well as all manner of reef fish. Sea turtles and white tip reef sharks can be seen on almost every dive and hammerhead and leopard sharks can also be seen at times. Visibility ranges from 10m to 30m and above.

  • Rates vary slightly among different operators. Boat transfers and packed lunch are included.
  1. 3 dives at Sipadan------------------------Rm 260
  2. Equipment (if required)------------------Rm 40
  3. Permit from Sabah Park*-----------------Rm 40
-----------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL: Rm 340
-------------------------------------------------------
* Permit from Sabah Parks is required to access the island. Permits are limited to 120 per day and are typically obtained by the dive operators. You should verify that the diver operator you choose is diving at Sipadan with permits, as some companies have been caught diving the island recently without permits.

Dive The World Recommendations:

  1. South Point. 'South Point' has plenty of whitetip sharks, fusiliers and turtle cleaning stations and being exposed to open ocean, the opportunity to spot the occasional pelagic visitor like a hammerhead or manta ray.
  2. Turtle Cavern. ' It was at one time speculated that the cavern was their mausoleum and that they came to this site to die. However, a more accurate representation, is that the turtles became lost in the caverns at night and drowned.

  3. Barracuda Point. 'Barracuda Point' has huge schools of jackfish, batfish and barracuda, turtles everywhere, grey and whitetip sharks and herds of bumphead parrotfish, all living amidst stunning corals.

Diving Season

You can dive here all year round. Overall, the best conditions at Sipadan Island exist from April to December, especially July and August. January to March would bring unsettled weather and a decrease in visibility but the resorts still house plenty of guests at this time as the diving would still be possible.

Snorkeling

For non-divers snorkeling is an option on Sipadan. From the beach the reef is easily accessible, and parts of the reef further out can be reached by boat. Several dive tour operators bring snorkelers to the island at an all-inclusive rate of around RM170.

Eat and drink
There are no restaurants, and dive tours bring their own lunch, snacks and water with them.

Sleep

All resorts on Sipadan have been closed in order to preserve the island in a pristine state. Diving is still permitted and possible by day-trips from the nearby town Semporna. Alternatively, there are also resorts on the nearby islands:
  1. Mabul (25 minutes by boat)
  2. Kapalai (15 minutes by boat)

Praise the Lord for His creations.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE...... ;)
